In 1975 the freighter Lake Illawarra struck the Tasman Bridge. The disaster brought not only death and destruction to the ship and the bridge, but cut the city of Hobart in half for almost three years. This book charts not only the story of the tragedy, but also the struggle of the Tasmanians who had to cope with the aftermath.
