"Potential tsunami sources in Puget Sound were reviewed by a 23-person panel of geoscientists, oceanographers, and emergency managers who participated in a 1-day workshop. Their goal was to lay scientific groundwork for hazard assessment in coastal areas threatened by tsunamis and, in so doing, assist emergency managers that seek to comply with the spirit of the Washington State Growth Management Act, which instructs officials to seek out and consider the ?best available science.? The panelists recommended that tsunami modelers focus on several kinds of sources, and they also recommended improvements in source identification and modeling." -- p. 1.
