Summary: Join Native storyteller, Viola Riebe of the Hoh tribe on an animated adventure as she tells the story of a giant earthquake and tsunami in the Pacific Northwest. The adventure begins with breathtaking footage of the Pacific Northwest Coast. From there it leads to Viola teaching a group of children how to make Native baskets from cedar bark. She tells them that coastal tribes made many things from cedar bark, including canoes. The discussion turns to giant waves, as Viola shares an exciting tale of how a canoe ended up in the trees due to a large earthquake and tsunami - loosely based on actual events from 1700. These dramatic events are seen through the eyes of a young boy name Obi who overcomes his fears and ends up saving the village through his heroic actions.
