Summary: New life from the ashes takes you on a tour through two recent fires, highlighting the unique relationship that south eastern Australia's native flora has with fire. Capturing images just 6 months after the fire at Wilsons Promontory in April 2005 and wandering through the Alpine regions several years after the major fires of 2003, this dvd shows the major adaptations that plants use in response to fire. Living with wildfire is a DSE community engagement initiative that looks at the responsibilities of DSE and its partner agencies as well as the people of Victoria in relation to wildfire protection and response.
