Entrant : Safer Communities Awards 2000
Students form the emergency management course at Charles Sturt University are leading the way and making communities safer by applying the processes they learn in the course to their communities emergency management. Students are assessed on their real contributions to their community's safety and not just academic exercises. Due to this, much of the student's work has been integrated into their community's management plans and has caused a significant improvement in emergency management arrangements and practices.
