Subject: The New South Wales State Emergency Service has designed and issues two new pieces of equipment which are designed to enhance the effectiveness of the emergency response, while at the same time improving the safety of the rescuer. The first piece of equipment, a roof safety kit, is a simple but purpose designed roping kit that provides everything for storm damage control teams to operate safely on roofs. The second piece of equipment, a first aid kit, is purpose-designed for rescue type work. It is much easier to carry than standard kits and all items are easily locatable and identiiable. These pieces of equipment will work to make things easier, and safer, for emergency response teams.
