Review: Over the period 27 December 2004 to early February 2005, Sydney Airport Corporation (SACL) worked with Qantas and other airlines, Commonwealth and New South Wales Government agencies to coordinate the provision of support to a range of assistance operations following the tsunami in South East Asia. It may well be described as a 'project' as it involved all the aspects that would be found in a formal project; planning, consultation with stakeholders and documentation. The only difference is that unlike a project to counter a possible future occurrence, it was not theoretical. Its success has already been measured by the fact that hundreds of people affected in some way by the tsunami were assisted.
