In the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew in August 1992, much discussion has taken place surrounding various issues relating to building codes in geographic areas subject to damage from hurricanes and other strong storms. These issues are important to residents of such areas as they affect the manner in which their dwellings are constructed. This report describes the results of a study designed to obtain information from Atlantic and Gulf coast residents concerning their opinions about these issues
