Storm hazard: some meteorological concepts and basic principles -- Vulnerability -- Conditions of insurance -- Storm scenarios and accumulation control
Intended to give an overview of the main aspects of the storm risk in Europe. Too little is still known, the largest gaps being in the return periods of major storms in Europe. In the field of vulnerability, knowledge has improved considerably after the events of 1987 and 1990 thanks to the data provided by clients. The objective remains to intensify and continually update knowledge of both vulnerability and storm hazard so that the catastrophe potential of storm insurance can still be handled
