Review: The 2004 AAMI Firescreen Index is a successful community education initiative, which was developed and implemented to increase public awareness of the dangers of home fire and potentially reduce their incidence and impact. The project involved a large amount of original research and community education conducted through an extensive metropolitan and regional media relations campaign, as well as direct contact with stakeholders such as fire and emergency services, parliamentarians and relevant State Government departments.
