"The Department [NSW Agriculture] conducted a post UK FMD workshop at the Sydney Showground Homebush on Friday 7th December 2001. It brought together Government and private sector personnel from NSW. Each of the participants was deployed to the UK as part of the operations to control the outbreak of FMD."--p. 6.
In February 2001, Foot and Mouth Disease was diagnosed in sheep and cattle in northern England. The UK mounted a massive national operation to control and eradicate the disease that was found to be wide spread in the country. The outbreak continued until the 30 September 2001 when the last case was diagnosed and field operations went into early 2002. -- BOOK JACKET
