March 2000
Vol. I. INCEDE summarizing the past. INCEDE was established in 1991 following the United Nations' declaration of 1990-2000 as the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction. It was expected to conduct fundamental research on various aspects of disaster reduction and tackling problems in disaster mitigation through synthesizing information and methodologies mainly from earthquake, water, remote sensing and GIS fields. At the final stage of the center, this report summarizes 10 years of INCEDE, looking at the overall activities, what has been done and how much has been achieved
