Summary: The recovery management system was initially developed in response to devastating bushfires of January 2003. Emergencies in 2006/07 and 2008 led to radical revision, adding extensive search capabilitity, mapping and reporting features that make it a thoroughly serviceable tool for councils and support agencies.
