Subject: This document includes the executive summary, findings, recommendations, a list of submissions received, and evidence considered in the inquest into the death of six sailors who were competing in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race on 28th-29th December, 1998. The sailors were: Bruce Raymond Guy, Phillip Rayonond Charles Skeggs, Glyn Roderick Charles, John William Dean, James Michael Lawler, and Michael Bannister. Guy died of ischaemic heart disease and all the others died of immersion. Charles' and Dean's bodies have never been located. The boats to which these sailors belonged were "Business post Naiad", "Sword of Orion" and "Winston Churchill". The recommendations involve safety precautions for all Category One races involving the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and the Australian Yachting Federation. They also relate to Work Cover New South Wales and the NSW Minister for Fair Trading (Product Safety)
