This project examined the bushfire awareness and preparedness of accommodation providers and overnight tourists in Halls Gap. The need for this work became apparent during a "Fire Risk Management Study" completed in 2000 for the Shire of Northern Grampians. Key issues raised by local representatives of the emergency services contributed to the project's development. The intended application of the research is the improvement of awareness and confidence throughout Halls Gap's tourism industry in bushfire preparedness and survival.
