The Kathmandu Valley Earthquake Risk Management Project (KVERMP) has four objectives: 1. evaluate Kathmandu Valley's earthquake risk and prescribe an action plan for managing that risk; 2. reduce the public schools' earthquake vulnerability; 3. raise awareness among the public, government officials, the international community resident in Kathmandu Valley, and international organizations about Kathmandu Valley's earthquake risk; and 4. build local institutions that can sustain the work launched in this project.
