With modern information and communication systems, information on health problems could be shared with the public and local authorities in countries at high risk to reduce the human impact of future calamities. Greater systematic effort is also required at national and international levels in preparation for these events. Strategies based on accrued experience and knowledge could save lives and disabilities and link development aid,relief and post-disaster reconstruction.
