Summary: Authorities responding to disasters must manage enormous volumes of donated goods from individuals, communitites and businesses. In 2010 a scoping paper was prepared which investigated this phenomenon and also researched how recipients felt about the donated goods they received. The paper recommended the development of national guidelines which are contained in this document.
