The findings have political implication for the ways in which natural disaster are managed. The method adopted in the study involved an integrative framework; the study itself included survey interviews and field observation. The framework adopted examines the environmental circumstances of South Korea; the relevance of sociocultural values and the national political economy; the effects of the government's organizational structure and policies; and individual responses to natural disasters and to the government's role in disaster management
