Recent occurances of flooding in the UK have shown the devastating effects that these events have on people's homes and businesses. Following the floods during the autumn of 2000, the Parliament Select Committment for the Environment, Transport and Regional Affairs recommended that guidance be produced containing information for use by planning authorities and advice on ways to improve the resistance to flooding of existing properties. This document has been producing in response to those recommendations.
