This paper reports the results of a mail survey of Oklahoma City firefighters who participated in the rescue and recovery efforts after the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing. Its purpose is to examine social psychological variables such as perceived levels of depression, irritability, fear and anxiety among the Oklahoma City firefighters and to analyze how type of work and types of social and emotional support received since the bombings are related to those perceived levels of social psychological distress.
