The levee scheme at Lismore comprises principally the Central Lismore Levee and South Lismore Levee. The Department of Land & Water Conservation (DLWC) therefore commissioned this study to investigate the sensitivity of flood gradients at the levees located at Lismore. The aim was to determin what effect the different shaped hydrographs flowing down the Wilson River and Leycester Creek and the different phasing of these hydrographs have on the flood elevation gradient and the time it takes before overtopping of the levee scheme commences. The effect of variable levels of vegetative cover over the airport floodway is also examined.
