The National Storm Tide Model for Emergency response Project is a joint project between the Queensland Departments of Emergency Services (DES) and Natural Resources Mines (NRetM), the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Commonwealth Bureau of Meterology (BOM) under Emergency Management Australia's project Program. The purpose of the project is to develop a draft National Storm Tide Mapping Model for Emergency Response endorsed by Queensland, Western Australia and Northen Territory Government agencies responsible for bothe emergency management and hazard mapping. Studies indicate that these three Australian States are the most vunerable to the effects of storm tide.
