The goal of the project was improved security and quality of life for people living in the peri-urban areas at high risk from natural hazards. The outputs were to place particular emphasis on risk treatment. In doing so, the project not only addressed essential services in times of emergency, but also provided solutions to some of the pressing, day-to-day problems in the settlements and villages.
