Cover title
Between October 25 and November 10, 1993, a series of wildfires in six Southern California counties destroyed over 1,000 structures. Three weeks later the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) convened a Hazard Mitigation Survey Team to recommend further measures to reduce the amount of damage from such wildfires in the future. The measures are summarised in this report, and will be considered by local, state and federal agencies while updating their fire hazard mitigation plans
