Summary: StateAlert is an emergency management tool that delivers emergency warnings direct to people in a specific location where lives may be in danger. Utilising mapping technology and telephone data, StateAlert can geographically target an area as small as a suburban block or as large as a whole district, and deliever critical public information to landlines and registered mobile phones. Messages can also be sent via email and RSS feed. StateAlert uses write once, send to many technology which ensures emergency services messages can target people most affected and communicate with them concurrently. It is the electronic equivalent to a door knock. StateAlert is a joint collaboration between the Fire and Emergency Services Authority of WA (FESA) and WA Police (WAPOL) on behalf of the State Government as part of its ongoing commitment to effective emergency management.
