Hurricane Iwa was the most costly storm ever to strike Hawaii, although it was not the most severe. Damage varied from the superficial to complete destruction of homes, buildings, and structures on Kauai, oahu, and Niihau. No major damage was reported for Maui, Hawaii, Molokai, and Lanai
