Summary: "The 2009 Australia Day Emergency Expo was the eighteenth consecutive Expo conducted by the Local Emergency Management Committee. The Expo was held in conjunction with Council's Australia Day celebrations at the Council Chambers and involved four (4) active displays highlighting an emergency response to a motor vehicle accident involving a chemical spill and casualties. Supporting the active displays was a series of static displays by participating organisations. The organisations participating included NSW Police, NSW Fire Brigades, Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance and State Emergency Service (SES). The Expo, as in previous years, proved highly popular and was enjoyed by a large spectator audience. The Expo is designed to promote public awareness of the co-operative approach to emergency management in New South Wales." -- Website.
