Subject: This project is a weekly, one-hour Emergency Services Radio (ESR) program broadcast on Sydney's 2RRR community radio. It uses professional firefighters as media presenters and program format controllers. The program delivers operational round-ups from local area emergency services, interviews with specialised positions (SPI), community safety messages and information and an "E-B@ck" (electronic mail correspondence) segment that allows two-way communication with the community. The purposes of the project are to improve service delivery of important community safety messages in a congested and highly competitive media environment, and to increase public awareness of the roles and responsibilities of emergency service organisations.
