Subject: The City of Monash is required to make updated copies of its Municipal Emergency Management Plan available to appropriate local agencies. Previously it came in an A4 binder and consisted of text, figures and maps. Providing updates proved difficult through potential misplacement of manuals or failure to follow appropriate document control procedures. Council was keen to present its Emergency Management Plan in a format enabling quick access to critical information required to manage emergencies within the municipality. Council worked with the private sector to prepare the Plan in digital form. Produced on CD-ROM in a structure familiar to that of the standard plan, it integrates information more effectively.
