Subject: The flood warning system was officially opened on 6 September 2001 at which stage over 3000 "Flood Response Guidelines" booklets, compiled as part of the project, had been distributed to flood affected householders in the Alpine Shire and the Rural City of Wangaratta. The close cooperation between all agencies and the community during the development of the project was an outstanding feature.
