Title from disc label.
"This DVD is a story-telling tool to support learning through seeing, hearing and doing and provides an introduction to Night Patrol workers to safety on the job for themselves and their clients. Night patrol workers in remote or regional areas face unique challenges every shift. The risk of harm or injury to either themselves or their clients from aggressive behaviours, alcohol, drug abuse and domestic violence is highlighted in the DVD which offers simple, practical approaches and solutions from other more experienced night patrol workers. Attempting to defeat the tyranny of distance which so often challenges training opportunities in remote areas, the Sundowner Project was developed as a multimedia tool which could be used online as part of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework or stand alone as a media resource which perfectly aligns with two units of competency in the CH02 Community Services Training Package. The resource is culturally sensitive, relevant and user friendly. Acknowledging that night patrol workers in remote and regional areas may have low literacy / numeracy levels and that English may not be their first language, the Sundowner Project has been developed to address these issues using symbols, imagery and audio and has been successfully used with lower literacy level clients across regional and remote areas." -- Website.
