Summary: "This project was initiated by four 14-year old students from Maffra Secondary College following the fire and flood events of 2006/07 in Gippsland. They were all directly involved in the events and found there was limited information specifically for teenagers. They felt young people could be empowered in emergency situations given the right information and skills. The students engaged in fundraising to print the information booklet including a grant from the Foundation of Youth. The booklet provides a wealth of information in easy to read and easily understood language with an appealing and eye catching design. This project exemplifies the qualities of self-reliance, consultation and community networking which we work to instil through community education programs." -- Website.
