Report from a training workshop in Nepal undertaken under the Housing Earthquake Safety Initiative. Realizing the challenges of implementing building codes and the needto translate advancements in knowledge into practical initiatives, UNCRD launched the Housing Earthquake Safety Initiative in 2007. This initiative aims to improve the structural safety of houses to prevent damage and safeguard people's lives, property, and livelihood from earthquakes through effective implementation of building codes. This publication includes resources of the training, participants discussion, and their recommended framework and action plan for building code implementation in Nepal.
