These guidelines set out UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) recommendations for drills and exercises for all persons who live and work on, or visit, fixed and mobile offshore installations, including mobile drilling rigs. They also apply to all persons who work on such installations, but who are accommodated on support vessels (for example, flotels, crane barges, pipelay vessels and diving support vessels), and to persons who may live onshore, but who are transported by helicopter or boat to work offshore on a shift by shift basis. In developing guidelines for drills and exercises, it is assumed that all persons have received appropriate offshore emergency training, and that those who receive additional specialist emergency training will play a lead role in the conduct of drills and exercises
