Background -- The project -- Project approach -- Project support -- The emergency risk management process -- Main natural disaster risk findings -- Where to from here? -- Appendices.
With the Tasmanian State Disaster Committee committed to the emergency risk management approach, and with future Natural Disaster Relief Arrangements funding to be linked to evidence of risk reduction, funding was obtained under the Natural Disaster Risk Management Studies Programme to support risk assessments in the three regions of Tasmania. Risk assessments were pricicpally focused on sudden,, or relatively sudden, natural hazards such as flooding, major wildfires, severe land gale conditions, severe snow storms and earthquakes.
