Subject: On the evening of July 28, 1997, part of Fort Collins, Colorado, received over 10 inches of rain in less that five hours, causing a flash flood that resulted in five deaths and substantial property damage. The next day, cities and counties further east received large amounts of rainfall from slow-moving storms and also experienced substantial flooding.
