Tropical cyclone data for the Australian region from 105 degrees E to 165 degrees E presented by Lourensz (1977) have been revised and updated to cover the period July 1909 - June 1980. Tracks are presented grouped in two-yearly periods till June 1959, and on a yearly basis thereafter. The cyclone-prone part of the Australian coastline is divided into numbered sections, each 100km long. Chronological tables for all coast-crossing cyclones include central pressures and translational speeds and directions at landfall. Other cyclone data in this summary include speed and direction roses depicting cyclone movement, decadal incidence of cyclones in the Australian region as a function of month, a comparative distribution of cyclones over the western, northern and eastern parts of the continent, and total incidence presented annually
