Review: The Dept. of Emergency Services contributes to the Government's priorities of improving health care and strengthening service to the community, protecting our children and enhancing community safety and delivering responsive government. In pursuit of these aims the Dept. developed the Community Safety Resource Package. A package of age specific resources was developed focusing on parents, babies and school aged children, through to senior citizens. A community resource and website was also developed which promoted event specific community safety measures. This approach enabled the department to reach a broad cross section of the community and target community members according to their age, interests, vulnerability to disasters and associated risk factors
