Although rare, primary industry emergencies, such as an outbreak of an animal, plant or aquatic animal disease or a pest incursion, have the potential to cause enormous economic and social disruption. This paper aims to identify the critical success factors for achieving a high level of primary industry emergency preparedness. The research focuses on South Australia and further aims to identify the factors that enable or disable primary industry emergency preparedness.
