Subject: On 11th July, 1989 the Indian Pacific collided head on with a BlueBird passenger train at Red Hill in South Australia. This report examines the response by the Mid-North Region of the St John Ambulance Service. 60 patients were transported to local hospitals with minor to moderately serious injuries. There were no fatalities. Reaches conclusions relating to improved communications systems and site managment procedures
