The goal of the meeting was to bring together individuals with disaster management responsibilities in assisting countries, key regional and international organizations and a cross section of affected countries to discuss opportunities to enhance current disaster management programmes in Asia and the Pacific in order to develop a long-range, coordinated relief support startegy for the region
