Most locations to which tourists flock are hazard prone. The very elements that define the appeal reflect increased risk. Tourists are unfamiliar with the hazards in the area they are visiting. They lack a context and knowledge of protective actions. The author has interviewed over 600 tourists caught in Hurricanes Bob and Andrew, and earthquakes. Report presents preliminary findings and words of advice to tourist business managers
