One of the goals of FEMA is to encourage and support the spread of emergency management-related education in colleges and universities across the United States. To that end, the Emergency Management Institute has put together these materials: an annotated listing of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada which teach one or more emergency management courses; a compilation of course syllabi and outlines of such courses; an outline of a potential emergency management curriculum; and a copy of a successful proposal to develop and offer an Associate Degree in Emergency Management
