Examines the sociological aspects of weather modification in South Dakota. The research program spread over 4 years, in 20 participating counties. There was majority favourablility to weather modification at the beginning of the project, however as the perception of the efficacy of cloud seeding fell, so did the favourable response. After 3 operational seasons, organized opposition arose from those who believed they were being disadvantaged
