In 1993 a large earthquake in Morobe and Madang provinces caused devastating landslides that killed 37 villagers and destroyed 2 bridges, 2 airstrips and 3 villages. 8000 people were evacuated. This booklet attempts to inform villagers of some of the cicumstances that can lead to landslides, to enable them to evaluate their own housing and garden sites
