On June 22, 1993, North Dakota was struck by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. The Inter-Agency Hazard Mitigation Team was convened in order to identify, address and make recommendations on a range of specific mitigation actions, to be addressed by Federal, State and local agencies during the reconstruction and recovery process. Specific recommendations are made under the categories of Watershed management, Planning, Basement flooding and Public education and awareness
