A thesis submitted in total fulfilment of the requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the Department of Clinical Nursing, University of Adelaide, November 1996
Cover title
This research explores the construction that people in a particular Victorian community held in respect of healing from the experiences of the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfire. Twenty-six residents and fourteen disaster relief workers were interviewed. The thesis explores the notion of a cosmology based on an attachment to space and place and a love of nature, and reconstructs a philosophy of nursing from it
