The purpose of this research agenda is to set clear-cut research priorities in the area of disaster and emergency management. The agenda will draw attention to a broad array of research themes and will elaborate on the particular utility and consequence of undertaking such research. In the concluding section, some of the major research themes identified under the variuos thematic sub-headings are considered and it is suggested that they be given highest priority for future research.
