The purpose of this report is to offer post-typhoon hazard mitigation recommendations to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) National and State authorities, and appropriate Federal agencies. Hazard mitigation is defined as any action taken to reduce the risk to life and property from future natural disasters. These hazard mitigation recommendations have been collectively developed by government officials representing the FSM National Government, Chuuk State, Yap State, and the United States Government. The goal of these recommendations is to provide a framework for typhoon-related mitigation opportunities for the people of Micronesia. As FSM implements these recommendations, the resultant actions will save lives, reduce injuries, and help prevent damage from future typhoons
